How long will my claim take to settle?

Every claim is individual and is treated as such.  Many factors determine how long a claim will take to settle; a very straightforward claim can be settled in a matter of a few weeks however the following factors may result in a claim taking a little longer:

    –  The other side have not admitted responsibility

    –  The at fault driver was uninsured

    –  The claim goes to Court

    –  The case has complex issues

At LA Law, we will always attempt to settle your claim as quickly as possible however we will not compromise the amount of compensation that you should be awarded.

How much compensation will I receive?

The amount of compensation you will be awarded will depend on the severity of your injury in addition to as any losses and expenses you have incurred as a result of the injury.  Every claim is individual therefore it is unhelpful to provide an estimate of compensation; however our experts will be able to provide you with such an estimate upon receipt of all of the evidence.  LA Law’s overall aim is to obtain the maximum amount of compensation for your particular injury.

Will I have to see many experts?

You will normally have to attend a medical examination which will be carried out by a medical expert who will be fully advised of the circumstances of your case.  Your medical appointment will be located at a venue close to your home to avoid any inconvenience to you, and most experts will be able to accommodate a weekend or an evening appointment if this is preferable.

Will I have to go to Court?

Most cases settle without the need to go to Court, however if liability is in dispute or an unreasonable offer is made then your case may be heard in front of a Judge who will determine whether you are entitled to compensation and/or how much compensation should be awarded.  If your case does go to court, you will be accompanied by a barrister and/or one of our solicitors who will be familiar with your case.
