In October 2012 following a landmark ruling by the European Court of Justice, it was clarified that passengers were entitled to compensation for flight delays and or cancellations (as long as they met the set criteria).
The criteria to be eligible to make a claim is simple:
- Your delayed or cancelled flight happened within the last 6 years
- You were delayed for more than three hours
- You departed from an EU airport or arrived at an EU airport on an EU based airline
- The delay was not caused by any extraordinary circumstances
If you meet the above criteria then under EU rule 261/2004 you may be entitled to between £90 and £420 in compensation!
Here at LA Law Limited we will act on your behalf on a no win, no fee basis so you are not put at any financial risk, and if you win your claim we will only keep 27% of your compensation and a £25 administration fee so you will keep the majority of your compensation. We will do all the work and negotiate with the airline on your behalf.
By providing as little details as your flight information and the amount of time by which your flight was delayed, we would be able to start the quick claim process.
In most cases the duration to obtain the award is minimal sometimes concluded and paid out within a couple of months.
It is a well-known statistic that there is an extraordinary large amount of unclaimed compensation for delayed or cancelled flights and as we work on a strictly ‘no win, no fee’ basis you have nothing to lose.
